QRadar

IBM's security intelligence and SIEM platform, often evaluated as a destination for normalized IBM i security and event data.

Definition

QRadar is IBM's security intelligence and SIEM platform. In IBM i environments, QRadar becomes relevant when security teams want AS/400 and IBM i events to appear inside centralized monitoring, investigation, and incident-response workflows.

The useful project work is making IBM i events understandable to the SIEM. Audit journal entries, system messages, exit point events, and privileged activity need mapping and ownership before QRadar can produce actionable signals.

Example

A SOC may use QRadar to correlate IBM i security events with firewall, endpoint, and identity events from the rest of the enterprise.
