Glossary Term

AI SIEM

A security information and event management platform that uses machine learning or generative AI in data preparation, detection, prioritization, investigation, or response.

Definition

AI SIEM applies machine learning, generative AI, or both to work already performed around a SIEM. That can include preparing telemetry, finding unusual behavior, grouping alerts, building timelines, explaining evidence, recommending next steps, or coordinating approved response.

For IBM i, the AI layer is useful only after sources such as QAUDJRN, QHST, identity, network, application, and security-product data are selected, mapped, forwarded, and monitored. AI does not automatically understand an IBM i journal entry merely because the record reached a central platform.

Example

A security team may use AI SIEM to connect an IBM i authority failure with the same person's identity, endpoint, VPN, and cloud activity, then summarize the supporting evidence for review.
