Fleet and Asset Maintenance

TMT Fleet Maintenance

Fleet and asset maintenance software covering work orders, preventive maintenance, parts inventory and warranty recovery, with IBM i lineage and a current cloud edition.

Program Overview

TMT Fleet Maintenance is Trimble's asset maintenance product for fleets that manage equipment uptime as its own discipline rather than as a side effect of dispatch. It records in-house and outsourced maintenance, handles work orders and repairs, tracks technician time, orders parts, runs preventive maintenance schedules, and reports maintenance cost through an analytics dashboard. Optional modules cover road calls with third-party repair centers, shop floor scheduling, warranty claim recovery and tire condition tracking.

The platform question needs care. TMT has IBM i lineage: IT Jungle covered a TMT Fleet Maintenance edition for IBM i alongside TL2000 when both products received web front ends, and Trimble has listed asset maintenance modules for its SQL and IBM i platforms as subscription offerings. Trimble's current fleet maintenance product page describes a cloud product and does not mention IBM i. That is not evidence the IBM i edition is retired, and it is not evidence it is current. Ask the vendor which deployment is being sold and supported for new customers at your fleet size and get the answer in writing.

Best Fit

Best fit for carriers and private fleets that manage maintenance, parts and warranty as a separate discipline from dispatch and need work order, preventive maintenance and cost reporting in one system.

What this program helps with

  • Work order and repair management, including technician time tracking and parts ordering
  • Preventive maintenance scheduling and parts inventory management
  • Maintenance cost analytics covering both in-house and outsourced work
  • Optional Road Call, Shop Floor Interactive, Warranty Recovery and Tire Tracking modules
  • Integration with Trimble accounting, telematics, fleet management and transportation management products

What to vet before shortlist

  • Confirm in writing whether an IBM i deployment is available to new customers, since Trimble's current product page leads with cloud
  • Decide whether maintenance should share a system with dispatch or stay separate, and evaluate integration claims against that answer
  • Check how maintenance history and utilization data reach dispatch, since that link is what makes the data operationally useful
